   刘华北,博士 (Ph.D.),男,华中科技大学土木与力学学院教授,中组部“青年千人”学者。刘教授于1996年获河海大学水利水电工程学士学位,于1999年获清华大学水工结构工程硕士学位,于2003年获美国哥伦比亚大学岩土工程博士学位,2003年8月至2007年8月于清华大学土木工程系工作,先后任讲师、副教授、地下工程研究所副所长、所长。2007年8月至2013年6月在纽约城市大学工作,任土木工程系助理教授,并于2013年获得终身教职及副教授资格。2013年7月获得中组部“青年千人计划”资助到华中科技大学工作。


   刘教授长期如下领域的研究工作:

   2000年以来在国际刊物、国内核心刊物及国际会议上发表学术论文100多篇,包括SCI收录论文53篇,EI收录论文约40篇。刘教授主持或共同主持的科研项目得到了中组部、中国自然科学基金委、美国联邦国土安全部、美国联邦交通部、美国纽约州交通局、以及美国新泽西州交通局的资助,其中美国联邦国土安全部的项目为该部给予美国年轻大学教师的Scientific Leadership Award。2014年刘教授获茅以升土力学及岩土工程青年奖


   刘教授在土与结构相互作用、岩土材料本构模型、加筋土结构及岩土结构抗震方面的工作在国际有一定的影响,研究成果被国际学者所广泛引用,其SCI收录论文在Web of Science 上被他引380余次,其SCI及EI收录论文在SCOPUS被他引740余次,其在Web of Science上的H因子为14,在SCOPUS上的H因子为18(2016年秋)。他是美国土木工程师协会(ASCE)Journal of Bridge Engineering 的副主编以及Computers and Geotechnics和Transportation Infrastructure Geotechnology的编委,同时为ASCE多孔介质力学专业委员会及ASCE土工合成材料专业委员会的委员。他也是在中国土木工程学会土力学及岩土工程分会理事、中国土工合成材料协会理事、及中国振动工程学会土动力学专业委员会委员。


刘教授长期招收岩土力学、岩土工程及防灾减灾方向的博士及硕士研究生,有兴趣者请与其联系。

Prof. Liu holds a Ph.D. degree, ME degree and BE degree from Columbia University, Tsinghua University, and Hohai University, respectively. He was a lecturer and associate professor of civil engineering at Tsinghua University from 2003 to 2007, after which he joined City College of New York as an assistant professor of civil engineering, and was approved tenureship in 2013. He became a full professor of geotechnical engineering at HUST in fall 2013, with a professorship of "1000 Young Talents Plan" awarded by the Chinese central government.


Prof. Liu's research interests consist of reinforced soil structures, underground structures, geotechnical earthquake engineering, and constitutive modeling. He has published over 50 English journal papers in these areas. His work in these areas is impactful, demonstrated by the number of citations by the international community on Scopus (more than 720 in Summer 2016) and Web of Science (more than 380 in Summer 2016). His H-index on Scopus is 18 in Summer 2016. Prof. Liu is also an associate editor of Journal of Bridge Engineering, ASCE, and an editorial board member of Computers and Geotechnics and Transportation Infrastructure Geotechnology. He serves on two technical committees of ASCE.
